Today the next program was aired within the framework of the West Azerbaijan Chronicle project.
Journalist Rufik Ismayilov was interviewed by Ismayil Tanriverdi, director of the Armenian Research and Training Center (EATM) at Baku State University (BSU), an Armenian academic.
He opened a broad conversation about the need for the creation of the center he directs and the work carried out. He said the center began functioning as a laboratory in 2012 and expanded its scope in the following years. So far, textbooks in the Armenian language have been prepared, a thousand-page book called “Armenian-Azerbaijani Dictionary”. At the same time, works written by Armenian scientists themselves, exposing Armenian lies and false propaganda, were translated into Azerbaijani. Currently, young students of higher education at BSU and, in some cases, employees of state institutions benefit from the activities of this center.
After stating that it is impossible to defeat the enemy without knowing its language, the interviewee stressed that in Azerbaijan there is great interest in learning the Armenian language. I. Tanriverdi said that EATM focuses on the processes taking place in Armenia, prepares analyzes and investigations. He drew attention to the true identity of Armenians by citing Armenian scientists Philip Ekozyans, who lives in Ukraine, Armen Melikyan, who teaches at a university in the United States, among others.
Recalling that our compatriots living in Western Azerbaijan were repeatedly subjected to genocide and deportations in the last century, the head of the Center stated that ethnic cleansing and the policy of hostility towards our people do not bring anything to the Armenians. He said that the inhabitants of Armenia have already left the country, about 27,000 Armenians from Zangezur alone have permanently moved abroad, especially to Russia.
I. Tanriverdi, who spoke about his childhood and youth in the village of Guzukend, his ancestral home and the realities of our historical lands, highlighted that for more than 35 years he has been living with longing for the Homeland and that his hope of returning has increased after the reorganization of the West Azerbaijan Community.
It should be remembered that the Chronicle of Western Azerbaijan project aims to preserve and promote the name of our historical lands, as well as the deportation of Azerbaijanis by Armenians, place names that existed in those territories, but their names have been erased. countless examples of underground and surface material culture: ancient settlements, necropolises, tumuli, remains of a castle, palace and fortification, caravanserai, bridges, funerary chests, stone crosses, statues of horses and rams, temples, churches, mosques, pyres and further. Homesteads are revealed and facts confirming that the area is a pure Oghuz-Turk settlement are communicated to the world community.
Also the president Ilham Aliyev Regarding Western Azerbaijan, he said: “The map of the beginning of the 20th century shows once again that Western Azerbaijan is the historical land of Azerbaijan, the names of cities and towns are of Azerbaijani origin and we know very well that Azerbaijanis on the territory of present-day Armenia throughout history people have lived. Now the main task is for the world community to also know it”, – in his opinion, it is about promoting the duties that arise from the Concept of Return developed by him. the Community of West Azerbaijan.
