The main street of Lausha, a glass brass city, is a proud of 3.6 kilometers in length. Based on Neuhaus am Rennweg, it descends to Kerbtl, to a long valley. On the slopes on the right and left squat, facades covered with dark gray shale. This comes from Steinach, a neighboring city at the end of the valley, and is widespread in the forest of Thuring.
Fenja Luderits bought a large house at 500 meters. A 27-year-old teenager from Berlin came to Lausha seven years ago to train as a glass blower in a professional school. She learned to blow up Christmas decorations of the Christmas tree over a gas flame made of glass tubes and develop filigree structures made of glass rods. Together with her partner Anton Müller-lobe, who comes from the village, she also learned the craft of glass. A drop is taken from the oven to take 1400 degrees Celsius from the oven and designed thick vases, a bowl and lampshades. They sell their glass works of art in Germany.
Luderitsa, Long Plastas, says Laushner Dialect and feels comfortable in the city. She would like to rent spacious rooms in the house that needs to be repaired at a short price. “It would be my dream,” she says, walking around the room in which she scrape the floors with friends for the box for the box. The windows have already replaced them. Tiles remain.
When she arrived in Lausha, she was quickly accepted, she says. You sound here because Lauschner has been formulated directly, but “everyone is opening when someone needs help.”
Home production “in front of the lamp”
On the long main street there are two glasses with parking spaces for tourists’ Day coaches. Lausha developed from such huts around 1600. When the work became less than 150 years later, home products began “in front of the lamp”, as it is called. In 1847, in 1847, the decoration of the Christmas tree was invented, Lausha became famous. For example, in some buildings – Lüderitz ‘ – there are still separate bays that were built for this homework. Others use their stores for this.
Every second of these stores is now empty. Then the house looks to the side, even if the owners live above it on the floors. Many do not want to rent or decorate the store. But there are also counter examples, such as a business that opened Yang Enno Jurgens, in which he noticeably works on a gas burner on a glass brooches outside.
Jurgens originally comes from Luneburg. The glass school also led him to the place, love kept it. He and his girlfriend miss two things in Lausch. A place for young people outside hotels and a cafe from a glass factory, which are open only during the day. And: “Supermarket!”
“We probably will not get a supermarket,” said Mayor Christian Müller-Deck another 500 meters. The last supermarket was closed when the main street was updated for several months in Lausha, and it was at the end of the dead end. The road is open again. The supermarket remained.
Müller-Dick says that he is in a conversation and can also present a business without work. A trading company will make sense for local residents and tourists. The next supermarket is located in the neighboring city of Neuhaus am Rennweg – in a half -kilometer of the forest track, also available by bus and train during the day.
Müller-dek was in the town hall for more than a year. He was a candidate for the mayor on the Lauschner list and prevailed on the first attempt. One of his first measures was the opening of a public toilet in the city center, in the other, that the green zones were again preserved in the city mind. “Only when I develop beds in front of the town hall, can I expect this from my neighbors,” he says. He talks with neighboring cities to sell himself together for tourism – a novelty in the airplane mountain region.
Stefan Boy-in-Gort is the one who supports these measures. It is also part of the list of Loshner and the City Council, and also heads 146 people of strong Lausher Carnevalrin. He has rooms in a cultural house on rent. Participants use them as a warehouse and for performances. At the same time, they will take care of the preservation of the building: they updated fire protection and curtains, attached industrial flushing and repaired the cooling technology on the rack.
Boy-in-gort, married, two children, is a banker. At the age of 30, he returned to the city “again”, as he says. Everything is available for families here: kindergarten and primary school, as well as “felt security” of the village community system.

For example, on the site, for example, for fiber glass. The company produces glass fiber – not so far from the “fairy -tale hair” that was invented here – and became the highest sales in 2022 at 75.8 million euros.
Less sales of glass art is updated as “intangible cultural heritage”, but its glory is radiated. For Rachel Van Lire from Virginia (USA), he was a reason for visiting the city. Meanwhile, it works as a glass creator and is Lauschar Glass Princess. “I am created for Lausha,” says 33-year-old. In the tavern she is met with handshake.
Like Van Lire, other people also move to the city, because they appreciate the peculiarity of this place, for example, the Dragon Leather from Slantes or seek a new house – like a Dutch couple, which recently had three apartments for relaxation. According to the Angel & Völkers real estate company, the price of the area in Thuringia is already 1,631 euros, it is 1099 euros in Lausha.
20 genera per year
The campaign is important for Laush, because the population in the city is returning. In 1995, there were still 4459 inhabitants, now you have 3130. “There are from 70 to 80 years a year, and we have only 20 births a year,” the mayor of Müller-Dick explains. You can calculate when the location has less than 3,000 inhabitants – a brand from which you can no longer choose a full mayor in Thuringia.
Almost in the middle of the long main street there is a large brick building: the former Goethe school. It has been supported and used at the Culture Collective Goote since 2014. There are rock concerts, rehearsal rooms and the residence of the artist. Five artists are invited to this place every year – many remain related to Lausha.
From the goet’s school, he passes past the station and the school school of a glass school school in Unterlauscha. Shortly before the conclusion, the turn into the lauscha adventures. It is also associated only with voluntary work: when the city wanted to close the bathroom for cost reasons, the pool support association was founded. Participants keep the object in good condition, sits down in the cashier and serves the diner. You get a free entrance for this. The association is one of the largest of 33 clubs on the spot. The clubs founded the table of the regulars a year and a half ago. There they speak meetings and offer support to each other.

Perhaps it is this intense club culture that makes Lauscha special. The city is even slightly different from the neighbors. AFD was also the strongest force here, in the elections in the Bundestag – in almost the entire East. But he received eight percentage points less than in the neighboring cities of Neuhaus am Rennweg and Steinach. To do this, the left and alliance of Sahra Wagenknecht and compared to Neuhaus, SPD also received more votes.
The new, smooth asphalt leads to Steinah, a former glifry city after 3.6 kilometers and the starting sign. A slightly larger place is the favorite enemy of Laushas. He is an opponent of bar and football, but also a completely different world – without an extreme valley. And without glass blower.
