This Monday, the Civil Guard arrested the alleged perpetrator of the “Koldo affair”, businessman Víctor de Aldama, and 13 other people in an operation led by the National Court in coordination with the Anti-corruption prosecution for alleged fraud against the public. Through a press release collected by Europa Press, the public prosecutor reported on the “police operation” carried out since Monday against an alleged criminal organization which had a “series of instrumental corporate networks, used” both for fraud against the public treasury and laundering of illicitly obtained funds.
Judicial sources confirmed to Europa Press that among those arrested is De Aldama, who is the subject of an investigation by the Central Court of Instruction number 2 for what is known as the “Koldo case”, of name of the former advisor to former minister José Luis. Abalos.
“Unlike other ordinary criminal organizations, the type of criminal structure we are working on implies great complexity for the investigation, because its activity in a legal sector such as that of hydrocarbons, added to the millionaire profits obtained in “Very delays “courts allow these organizations to position themselves in certain sectors with different spheres of power, achieving a high capacity for corruption of Administration officials”, affirms Anticorrupción.
The Prosecutor’s Office explained that this police operation is led by the Central Investigation Court Number 5 of the National Court, presided over by Judge Santiago Pedraz. The cause was also declared secret.
So far, 14 arrests have been made, as well as 11 entries and searches of homes and business headquarters, in several Spanish provinces, mainly in Madrid, Salamanca and Cáceres.
