The Civil Guard arrested a 41-year-old Spaniard for his participation last Sunday in the altercations during the visit of the kings of Spain and the presidents of the Government and the Generalitat Valenciana to those affected by DANA in Paiporta.
The arrested man is a resident of the nearby town of Albal who worked as a volunteer to help victims with cleanup efforts. There is no evidence that he has a past of activism in ultra movements, as OKDIARIO announced. According to the investigation, he hit with a brush the rear window of the black SUV in which the president of the government had been evacuated, while Felipe VI, Letizia and the president of the Generalitat remained on site to try to calm things down.
Investigators continue to identify additional individuals connected to the incidents, including residents of Paiporta. In their first report submitted to Torrent Court of Instruction Number 3, the guards identify more alleged suspects who also have no links to ultra groups.
The court opened proceedings for the offenses of aggression (for the blow to Pedro Sánchez in the back and for the injury suffered in the head by Doña Letizia’s bodyguard), disturbance of public order and damage.
The Information Service of the Civil Guard Command of Valencia continues to investigate whether, not in the attacks but in the demonstrations, there was “a minimum of organization”, as the Minister of the Interior declared , Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
