Civil Guard opposition exams suspended this Sunday due to an error in the boxes containing the exams

The Civil Guard has reported the suspension of the entrance exams to the Army Institute which were to take place this Sunday, September 29, given that an error was noted in the labeling of one of the boxes received containing the exams. The tests took place between this Saturday and Sunday, and more than 26,000 candidates were invited to fill 2,700 places.

“After detecting an error in the labeling of one of the boxes received and sealed with the knowledge exams of the access tests for entry to the Scale of Corporals and Guards of the Civil Guard, it is necessary to suspend the tests scheduled for tomorrow. 29,” police reported in a statement.

The Armed Institute will provide more details to the candidates concerned “as soon as possible”, communicating the new date for carrying out the tests. In any case, the exam taken this Saturday is valid, and the suspension only concerns candidates who were examined this Sunday, September 29.

The opposition phase is divided into four tests, including a knowledge test, a physical check as well as a personal interview and a medical examination. Before the tests, the first phase took place, the competition, during which the merits that each opponent added to the minimum requirements to be able to participate in the competitions were evaluated. Concretely, they had to be between 18 and 40 years old, have Spanish nationality, not have a criminal record or have at least a high school diploma.

The four tests

This weekend’s test consisted of completing a series of tests on general theoretical knowledge, languages, spelling, psychotechnics and grammar.

Opponents having obtained sufficient scores would be called to physical tests: a coordination and agility circuit, an endurance test – a two-kilometer distance race -, a strength test consisting of performing a certain number of push-ups by gender and a 50 meter swimming test.

Those who pass these latter tests will undergo a personal interview to assess their mental suitability for the job they are applying for and finally a medical examination to assess their health and physical fitness.

Candidates who complete the competition will join the Academy of Guards of Baeza (Jaén) and the College of Young Guards “Duque de Ahumada” of Valdemoro (Madrid), where they will receive their professional training during an academic year.
