The coastal cleaning vessels of the Department of the Sea and the Water Cycle collected a total 1,613.73 kilos of waste in Menorca during the month of Julywith a daily average of 52.06 kilos.
In addition, during this month the cleaning services also carried out various exceptional actions on the islandsuch as removing multiple logs and managing a concentration of plastic.
6.7 tonnes in the Balearic Islands
In the entire autonomous community, the department eliminated a total of 6,701.83 kilograms of waste, with a daily average of 216.19 kilos. Plastic is the predominant wasterepresenting 50.84 percent of the total, followed by wood, with 30.56 percent, and vegetation, with 8.43 percent.
This cleaning campaign continued with collaboration of beach and coastal type vesselsand will last until September 30.
