During Operation Orion, which lasted six weeks, Colombian law enforcement agencies and their counterparts from 62 countries intercepted six maritime vessels transporting cocaine and confiscated a total of 1,400 tons of drugs, including more than 1,000 tons of marijuana and 225 tons of cocaine. . Some of the contraband was discovered on a submarine sailing a new drug route to Australia.

During the anti-drug measures, the illegal supply of weapons was prevented and migrant smugglers were arrested. In total, more than 400 people were arrested.

It is noted that the operation was a hard blow for Latin American cartels. According to UN estimates, 2,700 tons of cocaine are produced in the world every year. The previous record for seizure of this drug by Colombian authorities was recorded in 2022, when 671 tons of the drug were seized.
