At least 100 people have been injured in new explosions involving wireless communication devices in Lebanon, Al Hadath TV reported.
A second wave of explosions occurred in several areas of Lebanon, including the southern suburbs of Beirut and Bekaa. Ambulance crews rushed hundreds of injured people to hospitals. Three people were killed as a result of the explosions in the Bekaa region, the television channel reported, citing the National News Agency.
It should be noted that explosions of communication devices in some homes, wireless devices in cars and motorcycles were also reported, similar to the wave of explosions that occurred on Tuesday. A source close to Hezbollah confirmed the explosion of several radio stations in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Reuters reports.
The intelligence source, in turn, explained that the communication devices that exploded today were portable radios and were different from the pagers. According to him, Hezbollah acquired these portable radios five months ago, almost at the same time as the pagers.
Informed sources said Israel blew up thousands of radios and receivers used by Hezbollah operatives during the second wave of its operation in Lebanon, Axios reported.
These waves may indicate that Israel is launching a large-scale military operation in the north, especially as tensions rise on the fronts and there are signs of a harsh response from Hezbollah.
The TV channel draws attention to the fact that explosions were also recorded during the funeral of Hezbollah members who died the previous day.
Lebanese hospitals are still seen to be overwhelmed with hundreds of wounded.
