The parliamentary spokesperson for Compromís in the Valencian Cortes, Joan Baldovipresented a motion of censure against the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazonfor his management of DANA which devastated the province of Valencia on October 29.
According to Baldoví in statements to the media this Monday, Compromís contacted the socialist group to coordinate this action, since 15 deputies from the nationalist coalition are not enough to present it.
In this sense, he asked the PSPV to join, with at least 5 parliamentarians, the motion of censure. The Valencian socialists, as indicated, are currently evaluating the proposal.
Baldoví indicated that “for reasons of dignity and decency”, it is “necessary” to present this motion of censure, taking into account what he considered to be “lies” on the part of Mazón during the appearance parliamentary session on Friday.
Regarding the candidate for president of the motion, the leader of Compromís assured that “they don’t want any position” and indicated that “the only option is to remove Mazón.”
So that the motion of censure prospers as a complement to the agreement between the two left-wing parties, Vox will have to vote favorably.
During Friday’s debate, during which Mazón appeared to provide explanations, Vox spokesperson, Jose Maria Llanosblamed the central government, which it accused of “criminal negligence” and of having “failed to fulfill its duty to help” the Valencians.
But in his speech he also criticized the PP Council. “You have always sold us that you are the party of the leadership, where is the leadership?” he asked.
