This was stated in an interview with Trend by Deputy Minister Rahid Alakbarov, who is temporarily acting as Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.
“There is a policy carried out by our State regarding the Zangezur corridor. Many concepts have been developed in this direction. Within the framework of these concepts, there is a need for transformation for the development, construction and expansion of transit infrastructure and the potential Along the Zangezur corridor we cannot maintain the previous conditions because when the Zangezur corridor opens a lot of cargo will be transported. In this regard, certain concepts are being developed to build transport junctions on both sides of the corridor.
Transportation of goods through Nakhchivan, transport services and improvement of road conditions for drivers should be carried out in such a way that transport infrastructure is built without disturbing the comfort of the population.
In Nakhchivan, it is planned to build a transit infrastructure through lands unsuitable for agriculture and industry. The geographical position of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic is such that there are entrances and exits from neighboring countries. “On the agenda may be concepts for the construction of infrastructure for the provision of logistics services in these places,” he stated.
