Congress confirms to judge that Errejón is no longer a deputy and opens the door to an investigation for sexual assault

The president of the Court of Instruction number 47 of Madrid, Adolfo Carreteroinitiated the procedure and took the first step to be able to investigate Íñigo Errejón after the complaint for sexual assault by Elisa Mouliáa. On Monday morning, the magistrate sent a letter to the Congress of Deputies asking to be informed of Errejón’s status as a former deputy. This is the necessary step to know if He lost his status by renouncing his status as deputy.and thus guarantee the competence to be able to carry out the criminal action.

In the afternoon of that same Monday, the Lower House confirmed to Carretero that Errejón issued his deputy certificate and that he is no longer part of the Sumar group in Congress, which opens the door to this sexual assault investigation.

Even if Errejón resigned from office In the statement made public last Thursday, the judge must have official proof that Errejón has indeed ceased to be a deputy and that, therefore, he is no longer subject to the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

Once this procedure is resolved, Judge Carretero will be able to call Errejón to testify, since it will then be that this court and not the Supreme Court will have jurisdiction to investigate the former deputy of Sumar.

Actress Elia Mouliáa’s complaint was filed last late Thursday and the investigation was entrusted to the aforementioned Court of Instruction number 47 of Madrid. Carretero is the same judge who was in charge of the called “mask case”, the big commissions that Alberto Luceño and Luis Medina received for purchasing medical supplies during the pandemic for Madrid City Hall.
