Congress to invest over half a million euros to install 30 new charging stations for electric vehicles

The Congress has launched a tender for the award of a contract worth 547,206 euros (including taxes) for the installation of a total of 30 new charging stations for electric vehicles in the car parks available to the institution, where in the future up to 56 of these chargers could meet.

At present, The Chamber has two car parks, one of which is four stories high under Carrera de San Jerónimo. and three others, under the building closest to the 19th century palace that houses the chamber.

In the first, there are fourteen charging stations for official electric vehicles and it already has a guidance system (to detect whether the spaces are free or occupied) on three of its floors, while in the other there are neither charging stations nor a guidance system.

The Chamber now wants to install a total of 30 new charging stations, 18 of which will be in the Carrera de San Jerónimo car park (which would make a total of 32) and another twelve in the other, where Distribution boards will also be placed to double the number of points reload, that is, with the intention of reaching 24.

According to parliamentary sources, the new points will not be reserved for official vehicles – the Assembly has a fleet of 25 vehicles, all electric – but will be made available to accommodate staff or potential visitors.

In addition, a guidance system will be installed on the ground of the largest car park which does not yet have one and on the three floors of the one under what are called extensions I and II, where it does not currently exist.

Environmental Sustainability Plan

All these measures represent a new step in the application of the Chamber’s Environmental Sustainability Plan approved by the Congressional Council in April 2022.

Companies wishing to participate in the competition must submit their offers by October 22. The maximum period of execution for the completion of the works will be four months. from the signing of the contract or that proposed by the winning company.

The work must be carried out on days that have the least impact on the normal operation of the Chamber. Operators can work on any working day, but with a special workload on Fridays. In addition, They will need to be open to carry out special activities on Saturdays and Sundays.

Of course, the specifications, collected by Europa Press, specify that all work, even if it must be carried out, exceptionally, outside the hours established for operators, on public holidays or outside working hours, will be considered included in the price offered.
