The terminal, which cost more than 20.5 million dollars, is being built on the principle of public-private partnership (70% of which are private investors). It will require 0.4 square meters of land near the Khwaja Abdullah Ansari International Airport, where 4,000 people will work.
“This project is one of the most important for Herat province, especially for the western area,” – saying Habibullah Samadiproject Manager.
Authorities hope the new terminal in Herat will reduce traffic jams and accidents caused by heavy truck traffic. At the groundbreaking ceremony, they called on businessmen and investors to invest in the country for economic growth and job creation.
