A well-known actress, who had previously stepped back from the spotlight due to a series of controversies, is making her return to the entertainment industry after nearly two years. On August 23, Seo Ye-ji will attend a photo session for a cosmetics brand at a department store in Jung-gu, Seoul.
For the unversed, in 2021, Seo Ye Ji effectively suspended her activities after a string of allegations arose against her in April of the same year. In 2014, she was first accused of school violence. 7 years later, the allegations resurfaced against her. Although her agency initially refuted them, when further controversy occurred regarding her past, things got out of hand.
In an attempt to reclaim her career, Ye Ji made a return in 2022 through a role in a tvN drama. However, the drama did not perform well, and the actress received a lukewarm response from the audience. Adding to her challenges, her exclusive contract with her previous agency ended in November last year, leaving her future uncertain.
