COP29 Operating Company: The Green Zone is determined to accelerate the development of the private sector

The Green Zone, the special venue for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan, will ensure that this year’s conference remains relevant for a long time to come, with a combination of high-level event organisation and programming, as well as technological innovation and global content partnerships that will greatly contribute to it.

It was reported that the entire world will gather in Baku for the most important climate event of the year, and at that time the Green Zone will become a platform where stakeholders can interact and exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge to give an additional impetus to climate action.

In addition to the demonstration of products and services by leading global organizations, the Green Zone is also scheduled to host various presentations, seminars and information sessions, as well as a series of specific programs consisting of musical and cultural events.

The Green Zone, consisting of exhibition halls and stands and covering a total area of ​​36,000 square metres, is located a few hundred metres from the Blue Zone, where official meetings of the Conference of the Parties will be held during the event.

This year, the Green Zone will further expand its reach through new virtual engagement channels, bringing the COP event to mobile phones as well as the computer/TV screens and doorsteps of the global audience involved in this project, whilst minimising the need for high-carbon travel.

Key features of this year’s Green Zone include:

Leading representatives of the private sector, government organizations, IGOs ​​(International Government Organizations) and NGOs representing a wide range of business verticals from both Azerbaijan and around the world will present and showcase the latest products, solutions and project developments related to climate action. They will do;

An innovative “extreme meeting” zone that serves to strengthen the connection between young people and other participants through influential speakers, special seminar and exhibition zones, studios for creatives and networking areas;

A first-ever “Daily Show” – a unique programme broadcast from the centre of COP29 featuring a diverse panel of high-profile guests as well as dynamic content. This broadcast will be aired worldwide via various news agencies to spread information about the conference far beyond the borders of Baku;

Advanced technology and live streaming services will enable organizations to engage effectively and expand their reach, allowing them to connect with local, regional and international audiences far beyond the boundaries of the event.;

Professional services for managing audiovisual and audio-visual content production processes: will record the content of events taking place in the event space and ensure synchronous transmission;

Conference rooms and individual meetings can now be booked at this dynamic centre on the COP29 online portal. Organisations can book conference rooms designed for medium- and large-scale meetings and events, with a theatre format and equipped with high-definition audiovisual equipment, which serve to ensure more comfortable visual contact and greater physical participation. In addition, corporate (B2B) meeting rooms are available for closed meetings of groups of four, eight or twelve people. Given the expected high demand, COP29 partners and exhibitors will be given priority when allocating meeting rooms.

The public will be invited to attend the Green Zone to listen to climate leaders and partners, as well as to contribute to the climate debate with their views. Free tickets will be available from early November.
