The Infrastructure Delegation of the City Council of Córdoba has acted on a plot of land of approximately 6,000 square meters in the Figueroa Park area to allocate it to a temporary parking.
This is a plot of land belonging to the Municipal Department of Urban Planning, located behind the Turruñuelos school, which can now be used to park vehicles for both neighbours and families who come to the educational centre every day to drop off and pick up their children.
In this sense, the delegate for Infrastructure, Miguel Ruiz Madruga, indicated that with this work “we are responding to a demand both on the part the inhabitants of the region as well as the school council and the school’s Ampa”, without forgetting that “it provides a solution to the security and mobility issues “which were generated at the entrance and exit of the school, which records a significant influx of people.”
The work consisted mainly of moving 10,572 cubic metres of earth, adding gravel and compacting it to leave the space in optimal conditions in order to serve as a parking lot, in addition to its signage.
Projects for new temporary parking lots
The delegate recalled that this is an action that is part of a municipal project aimed at allowing plots of land for parking vehicles. In total, and after prior study and analysis by technicians, they are 22 places which will be used for this purpose, distributed in different places in the city. Thus, when all are in service, 64,000 square meters will be dedicated to temporary parking.
Ruiz Madruga wanted to emphasize that all these plots “are going to be part of the temporary parking network “They will benefit from special maintenance from Infrastructure so that they are in the best conditions while the plot is assigned to the corresponding use,” said Ruiz Madruga.
The municipal official visited the parking lot today accompanied by the president of the Parque Figueroa neighborhood association, FRancisco Muñozwho showed his gratitude “because he was a commitment that the Town Hall had acquired with the district and carried it out.
Madruga stressed that this is the second lot used for temporary parking within the 64,000 square meter bag available for this purpose. The first is located on the street Solares of San Rafaelbehind the cemetery.
