The advisor of Social services of the The town hall of CordobaEva Contador, announced this Thursday that the Local Government Council would approve on Monday the contract to open the Emergency Housing Center, next to Agrupación Córdoba and Almogávares avenues, to more than 1.2 million euroswith the aim of having it operational before the end of this year. This is a long-delayed project: let’s just remember that its opening was scheduled for the end of 2019.
At a press conference, the advisor explained that the duration of the contract will be 24 months and is reserved for non-profit social interest entities. The winner of the competition will provide “comprehensive” attention to the families and people who arrive, while “there will be psychological support and accompaniment”, all this in the face of “emergency situations either social emergencysuch as fire, flood, falling roof and eviction”, among others.
Thus, he indicated that there will be “a assessment and a orientation addressed to these people towards the public and private resources that are in the city at that time”, as well as “immediate and punctual action to coordinate both with social services and with the entities that work in the city with the type of problem that the family or person has that will need care.
The Center will have 15 apartments
In this regard, he indicated that there would be social workers and educatorsA psychologisttwo janitors and two cleaning and laundry attendants, while the company that takes over the space will have to develop personalized protocols for each of the families who come or need the resource.
Concretely, the advisor specified that the center has 15 apartments for some 35 people. The accommodations have a capacity of two or three beds, except one, which has a single bed, intended for the case of a person who does not have a family and who only uses this resource. There will be common cleaning services, individualized cleaning of the apartments, maintenance advice, laundry and space to store belongings, depending on the circumstances, among other aspects noted.
