Once again, Holy Week and tourism show their close connection. The Córdoba City Council and the Group of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Córdoba received this Friday in Madrid the diploma of declaration of Holy Week as a Festival of National Tourist Interest.
The municipal delegate for Institutional Relations, Markets and Festivals and Traditions, Julián Urbano, and the president of the Group, Manuel Murilloreceived this recognition which supports “the work carried out over the last decades by the brotherhoods of Cordoba”, as the Group reports in a press release.
Alongside Cordoba, twelve other new festivals obtain this declaration, on the occasion of World Tourism Day. This compensation, granted by the central government In June 2023, it was requested by the City Council of Córdoba with a favorable report from the Junta de Andalucía, and is added to the four UNESCO World Heritage distinctions that Córdoba has. The government sub-delegate in Córdoba, Ana María López, was also present at the delivery.

In this line of work, the Association of Brotherhoods created in October last year the Cofrade tourist tablewith other institutions, to support the sector and study actions that strengthen the social, economic and cultural values of Holy Week in Córdoba.

Furthermore, in Córdoba, the mayor, José María Bellido, presented a recognition from the City Hall to the organization that integrates the brotherhoods of Puerta del Puente, which was collected by the vice president, Manuel Bonilla, and the charitable associate, Manuel Luque.
