Cordoba shines in a collection of books on world heritage cities

The Auditorium of the Cervantes Institute was the meeting place for the presentation of the World Heritage Cities Collectionpublished by the editorial Tintablanca and the Spanish Group of World Heritage Cities, of which it belongs Cordoba.

Each of the fifteen “Travel Books” that make up the collection is the creative sum of a literary historywritten by the best Spanish narrators, accompanied by a set of illustrationsunique drawings and paintings, made by renowned artists.

Under the title “Deseo y Ámbar”, the person responsible for creating the work linked to Córdoba was the Córdoba writer Joaquín Pérez Azaústre, accompanied by the illustration of the artist from Cádiz. Diego Gadirone of the most famous contemporary artists in the world of painting.

Under the gaze of Azaústre, the memory of Cordoba is worthy of historic city and world capital during the Umayyad Caliphate, where the presence of the women and men who made this possible is present in a very real and tangible way.

A sensory journey through letters

The titles are structured in ten stories which represent a destination that, paradoxically, always brings something new, no matter how many previous visits. The feeling, after an overflowing complicity between text and illustration, is the same every time you read it: with a Tintablanca in your hands, any previous trip is incomplete.

The President of the Group of Spanish World Heritage Cities and Mayor of Santiago de Compostela, Goretti Sanmartinsummed up this collection of World Heritage cities as a valuable work in itself.

“Each book is a small work of art that invites us to discover the cities through the soul of those who write and illustrate each chapter. With great sensitivity and success, they transmit to us the emotion they feel for the monumental environments and for the spaces so unique and full of life, while spreading respect and admiration towards those who inhabit these 15 jewel cities and preserve their authenticity. , Sanmartin emphasized.
