Correos presented this Thursday a stamp dedicated to the actress and singer from Valladolid Concha Velasco“one of the most emblematic figures of the national artistic scene”, as recalled by La Poste in a press release.
With a edition of 115,000 stamps and 3,000 Premium Sheets, this stamp can be purchased at the Post Office, via Correos Market or by contacting the Philatelic Service.
The image chosen for the stamp is a photograph by Concha Velasco towards the end of his career“a sign of the relevance he maintained until his final days on stage.” In addition, this launch “is a recognition of his extraordinary journey”, underlined Correos.
Concha Velasco, born in Valladolid in 1939, has been a symbol of versatility and talent for more than six decades on the artistic scene. “From its beginnings in cinema until its consolidation in theater and television, Velasco has been able to connect with different generations, becoming a cultural reference in Spain,” they emphasized.
The presentation at the Valladolid City Hall, after which the traditional obliteration of honor was carried out, took place in the presence of the mayor of the city, Jesús Julio Carnero and the subdelegate of the Government, Jacinto Canales, as well as the director of the Seminci, José Luis Cienfuegos, director of Philately and Institutional Relations of Correos, Nuria Lera, or Concha Velasco’s cousin, Esperanza Varona.
