Spanish author Valentín Navarro Viguera won second prize for his work ‘Movimientos de luz’
The jury of the Pilar Fernández Labrador International Poetry Prize yesterday chose Costa Rican Nidia Marina González as the winner of its 11th edition for her book “Atrapanieblas”, one of the 1,604 works presented from 28 countries. It is an award without financial reward and the book will have a preface by the poet and journalist Carlos Aganzo, as reported yesterday by the promoters of this recognition.
In addition, the members of the jury decided to award a second prize to the work “Movimientos de luz”, by the Spanish Valentin Navarro Viguera, which will also be published by the Provincial Council of Salamanca and will have a prologue by Jesús Fonseca, president of the jury.
The award ceremony and the second prize are scheduled for October 13, in the scheduled events of the XXVII Meeting of Ibero-American Poets, which in Salamanca is organized by the Salamanca City of Culture and Knowledge Foundation, under the coordination of the Peruvian-Spanish poet Alfredo Pérez Alencart.
Both collections of poems will be illustrated by Miguel Elías, who will also create a painting of Don Quixote that will be presented to the winning poet.
