Iglesias insinuated that people think about Venezuela without knowing the country, implying that he knows the subject well. He did so to leave Marta Nebot without arguments, given that the journalist said that “the left is wrong to defend characters like Maduro” who are “pure.” authoritarianism“.
The former Podemos leader interrupted Nebot to ask him “just one question”: “Could you name 5 cities in Venezuela? “You talk about Venezuela as if you know a lot about it and I ask you about five cities.” She, for her part, refused to play the game so as “not to take this type of exam.”
After Nebot’s intervention, the driver of the podcast in which both debated (Raw meat) decided to question Pablo Iglesias in the same way that he pretentiously did with the journalist. “By the way, to learn something, five Venezuelan cities?” he said to the laughter of the others: “Could you tell me? “To know them.”
Iglesias, this time, answered with a small mouth and hesitation. “I could tell you. I can even tell you that there is 122 municipalities in which the opposition governs, there is 3 states in which the right governs in Venezuela and… yes,” he said in an attempt to get out of the situation.
When asked, “What about the five cities?” he responded with a simple shrug of his shoulders, making it clear that he lacked the knowledge to answer his own question. And, of course, he did not reveal the five cities he had initially asked about in a whisper.
More than a month has passed since the presidential elections in Venezuela and Nicolás Maduro consummated the coup. Since then, the Chavista regime has been exercising a ferocious policy repressionwith the use of brutal police violence against protesters, arrests, the launch of the terrorist machine, the copying of Nazi Germany, disappearances, deaths…
Furthermore, this Tuesday, the PP presented to the Congress of Deputies a non-legal proposal aimed at recognizing Edmundo Gonzalezexiled in Spain, elected president of Venezuela. The majority of the House supported the initiative. On the other hand, the PSOE did not do so and presented an amendment so that instead of recognizing it, it would be analyzed in the European Union.
