The delegate of the Andalusian Government in Cordoba, Adolfo Molina, declared this Monday, during the presentation of the draft budget of the Junta of Andalusia for 2025 in matters of agriculture and livestock in the province, that “the Junta does not will not stop until the definitive connection of the tank Laundry up to the ETAP of Sierra Boyera is finished.”
In this sense and during a press conference with the territorial delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Francisco Acosta, Molina explained that after his suspension in 2009, the government of Juanma Moreno took over this project declaring it of interest to the Community in 2020, and it has already been awarded to the Cordoba company Jícar for a value of 9.3 million euros.
“The definitive connection project to La Colada is necessary, because we must avoid supply cuts, high costs linked to current pumping and lack of flow,” insisted Molina.
Threat of veto from the Guadiana Confederation
The Authority’s representative in Cordoba provided various data to illustrate what the commissioning of this connection represents. Hydrographic Confederation of GuadianaMore precisely, its president, Samuel Moraleda, threatened to veto it, denouncing duplicity with the provisional connection that the state undertook in 2023 in the middle of a drought. In fact, last week there was a technical meeting with the project on the table for study by the basin organization which must now authorize this action.
Adolfo Molina clarified, in this sense, and as ABC has already argued, that, “respecting the infrastructure of the current connection, will increase the flow of the pumping station from 400 liters per second to 600, by increasing the number of pumps and leaving one pump on standby to ensure supply in the event of a breakdown.
Furthermore, “it will be necessary to power line with sufficient capacity, three MW, to reduce the operating energy cost by more than half and achieve electrical redundancy, with the project of also increasing the water intake points, connecting the two existing points in the tower of water intake itself.
For Molina, “it is neither the time for vetoes nor the time for ideologies. Neither the Commission is duplicating the project, nor these works have any economic impact on citizens, because the money has already been collected based on the water fee. Therefore, anyone who does not commit to ending this injustice, at least do not bother. »
Hydraulic works budget figures
On the other hand, the delegate of the Andalusian Government in Cordoba highlighted the “firm commitment of Junta of Andalusia with Córdoba, reflected in the 2025 budgets, which allocate a total of 133 million euros to our province in key areas such as agriculture, water and rural development.
