The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 5 of Estepona has opened preliminary proceedings for an alleged offense of sexual harassment against the “popular” mayor of the municipality of Malaga, José María Garcia Urbano. Certain procedures which begin after the complaint filed by an official of the Town Hall itself.
This document, as LaSexta learned, was presented on October 23 to the Dean of the Estepona Courts and was then transferred to Court Number Five. For the moment, the only procedure retained by the investigating judge is the taking charge statement to complainant at a later datewithout specifying which one. Then, based on the evidence of crimes that can be collected, the next steps to take will be decided.
This complaint is in addition to the accusations made this Monday against the mayor of Algeciras and senator of the Popular Party (PP), José Ignacio Landaluce, concerning another case of sexual harassment against two councilors of his town hall. In this case, and for the moment, no complaint has been filed even though “popular” sources have already assured laSexta that “investigations” are underway into this mattershared by MEP Alvise Pérez.
Accusations and complaints that arise after last week, Sumar’s spokesperson, Iñigo Errejónannounced his departure from political life after a series of accusations on social networks for gender-based violence. All this has led to the revelation of an even greater number of accusations which, anonymously, continue to flood the networks and begin to point the finger at the leaders of other political parties.

Although he is a politician at the municipal level, García Urbano made headlines a few years ago for a comment he made at a PP campaign event in Andalusia, explaining why his hand was bandaged. “Some of you saw my hand like that and asked me what happened. A few hours later and after the controversy generated, García Urbano used his social networks to apologize for his comments. “Today I was wrong and I apologize. Gender-based violence deserves all the respect and the deepest rejection from everyone. I regret what happened,” he said. he declared in a message on his old Twitter account.
