Criminal flees and his 14-year-old girlfriend is shot in the shoulder

The Civil Guard is looking for a known criminal involved in a shooting on the A5 (southwest motorway or A-5) Friday afternoon. When some civil guards tried to identify him, he brandished a gun and tried to knock down the officials, according to sources consulted by ABC. This happened in broad daylight near the Toledo town of Santa Cruz del Retamar, with many drivers as witnesses, as the police intervention blocked traffic and caused traffic jams on the road.

It was officers from the Valmojado main station who stopped a dark car in the middle of the road to identify its occupants, a known criminal in the area and his 14-year-old girlfriend. Two guards opened the driver’s door, who refused to get out, accelerated and attempted to run over the officers. They used the service weapon when they saw the man had pulled out a gun and explosions were heard. Some shots must have hit the fleeing vehicle while other users recorded the scene.

Later, the young companion of the criminal presented himself alone at the Torrijos health center, about 15 kilometers away, from where he notified the Civil Guard. The girl was shot in the shoulder. It was a clean wound with an exit and entry hole, although it was referred to the University Hospital of Toledo.
