Fear of cybersecurity prevents the growth of small and medium enterprises.

23 million small and medium -sized enterprises in Europe – representing 99% of all companies and offer almost three quarters of jobs – are especially vulnerable to cyber attacks.

According to MasterCard, every fourth business owner with small and medium -sized businesses was a victim of deception on the Internet.

Ireland, Denmark and France record the highest rates, while a total of 11% of businessmen lost money and 9% of customers.

The threat is widespread: 42% say that they know other businessmen who have become victims.

Almost half says that fear of cyber attacks does not allow them to develop their business – with the highest indicators in Slovakia, Poland, Spain, Norway, France and the Czech Republic.

Every fourth is even afraid to be forced to put on mashed potatoes.

At the same time, two -thirds of businessmen believe that they should improve their understanding of cybersecurity.

And the most alarming are young: 36% of the Z generation are worried about cybercrime daily, compared with 27% of millennials and 25% of baby -boomers.
