Our efforts on the illegal detention of five Greek Cypriots in the occupied territories are concentrated in Turkey, Nikos Christodulides said on Sunday.
In his statements in the media, aside from the event in Milikuri, the President of the Republic of Cyprus emphasized the importance of switching to Cyprus of the United Nations, a general for Cyprus and General of the Secretary of the Council of Europe, “taking into account the fact that they consider the fact that this is energy from the occupied Turks.”
Especially in view of the meeting with the Secretary General of COU on Monday, Mr. of Christ, Christ said:
“We are already contacting this problem, but tomorrow this is an opportunity to discuss even more specifically, in the future, other actions that we take in different directions, hoping that this illegal, this pirate act will end as soon as possible.”
Answering the question whether the question of the five Greek Cypriots sent a message to the White House, the president of the republic said: “Of course, he was sent to the White House and at a bilateral level, but, as you know from US senators, since the messages were sent in various directions and wealth.”
To the question, with these problems, from the point of view of the illegal regime, we can be optimistic with the General Secretary and Mr. Tatar, as well as in the future course, President Christodulid said:
“Your question is completely reasonable. I want to say that I am responsible for these actions, and I mean our five compatriots, is the occupation of Turkey, not the regime, because it is either with instructions or with an agreement of Turkey, which owns the illegal territory of the Republic of Cyprus. And our discussions and efforts are focused on the Turks.
This, of course, does not create the necessary environment that we would like to have, but at the same time we know very well that the data on the problem in Cyprus was not simple, despite problems, difficulties, problems. We are here to do our best, precisely because for us the current situation cannot be the future of the problem in Cyprus. “
