The approximate amount of damage caused by the floods that occurred in the Czech Republic in September is 1.8 to 2 billion euros. This was reported by local media with reference to the government of the republic.
It should be noted that the greatest damage caused by the floods was caused to state property. At the same time, the regions that suffered the most were those in the northeast of the republic: the Moravian-Silesian and Olomouc regions.
Let us remember that in the second half of September the Czech Republic suffered floods that killed six people. About 20 thousand more citizens were forced to leave their homes due to the threat of flooding. Due to the need to allocate unplanned funds to combat floods, state budget expenditures have increased sharply. At the same time, the country must receive part of the funds to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster from the European Union funds.
