DANA death toll in Valencia rises to 215 while 78 remain missing

Already 223 people have lost their lives due to flooding caused by the storm. As confirmed by the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, there are 215 deaths in Valencia. Among them, 208 have already been autopsied, 167 have been identified and 78 people are still missing.

This Friday, search teams at Lake Albufera found two lifeless bodies, as Europa Press was able to confirm. In addition, the body of a 30-year-old woman was found in the municipality of Pedralba. In this case, it was a relative of the victim who went to the local police headquarters to report the discovery of the body.

This Friday precisely, the Devesa-Albufera service of the Valencia City Council ordered the suspension of all navigation on the lake and its canals, with the exception of that intended for rescue, inspection or cleaning tasks, to facilitate the in-depth victim search tasks. . , with the aim of “maintaining security”.

The rescue priority is currently to search for victims, both in the Magro river and on the Rambla del Poyo, at the mouth of the Túria and in Albufera.

In addition, there is one person who died in Andalusia and the confirmation of seven deaths in Castilla-La Mancha due to the storm ten days ago: six in Letur and one in Mira.
