Daryl Dixon’s ‘Ciudad de la Luz’ consolidates it as one of the best studios in the world”

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazonstressed that the filming from “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” in City of the Light “accredits and consolidates the positioning of the Alicante cinema complex as one of the best studios in the world.”

This was stated after visiting the facilities of the audiovisual complex where the filming of the third season of the popular series took place, with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). The president was accompanied by the series’ international producer, Steven SquillanteSpanish producer of Ánima Stillking, Silvia Araez, Tate Áraez, filming supervisor of the series and Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Nuria Montes.

Mazón thanked the producers of the series for choosing the Alicante studios as one of the locations for the filming of various scenes from the third season.

In this sense, he highlighted the reactivation of the studios and the potential of the complex to attract large productions at national and international level “with modern and innovative facilities that perfectly combine dishesexteriors and aquatic area”, while highlighting the Consell’s effort to make Ciudad de la Luz “a reference in the field film industry“.

The president announced that some scenes of the series would be filmed in the toilets of the Alicante complex and that filming would last around 10 days in Ciudad de la Luz.

In this regard, he stressed that “scenes of great interest due to their special and visual effects are filmed in our toilets, as it is one of the few facilities in the world that allows this type of scenes to be filmed.”

Furthermore, he stressed that to film on average 100 people works daily in the Alicante studios, a figure that reaches around 250 people during filming and who have been hired 20 companies of the area “which represents an important economic impact for the province, its productive sectors and the audiovisual industry, in addition to the tourist promotion of our territory.

Various locations

Production on the third season of “The Walkin’ Dead: Daryl Dixon” is based in Madrid and will expand to locations in Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and the Valencian Community.

It will premiere in 2025 and is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante, with Silvia Aráez and Jesús de la Vega also executive producing this season. Peregrinos SP24 is providing production services in Spain for the third season.

The third season follows Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey back home and reuniting with their loved ones. In their struggle to find their way, the journey leads them further astray, taking them to distant lands with adverse and ever-changing conditions, witnessing the various effects of the apocalypse of the walkers.
