Specialists from the Republican Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention in Ufa (Bashkirstan, Russia) said that dates have a number of useful properties and contain various vitamins, trace elements and antioxidants.
Oku.Az reports about this with reference to UfaTime.ru.
According to experts, the fruit contains a large amount of iodine, so people with diseases that require restriction of iodine intake, for example Graves’ disease (a disease of the thyroid gland), have been advised to exclude it from your diet. In addition, dates are a sweet product and people with poorly compensated diabetes should avoid them. Doctors advised people with diabetes to stabilize the sugar level before consuming dates and gradually introduce it into the diet, taking into account the calculation of the insulin dose.
Ufa experts also talked about the beneficial properties of dates. According to them, dates reduce the risk of developing heart diseases, help eliminate iodine deficiency, reduce blood cholesterol levels, and thus slow down the development of atherosclerosis. In addition, doctors have noted that this product has antioxidant and warming properties, helps with diarrhea, reduces irritation and anxiety.
