The IDF reported details of a recent operation targeting the military infrastructure of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in Syria.
The IDF press office said the Air Force attacked several military buildings and the Islamic Jihad headquarters, causing serious damage to their infrastructure and key personnel.
According to the IDF, since the October 7 attack on Israel carried out jointly with Hamas, Islamic Jihad continues to carry out terrorist activities against the State of Israel.
The organization, which is under significant influence from Iran and operates with the support of the Syrian regime, is also actively participating in the current hostilities in southern Lebanon, providing assistance to Hezbollah.
The IDF press service emphasizes that the operation is part of a comprehensive effort against Islamic Jihad aimed at protecting Israel and its citizens. The IDF intends to continue targeted attacks against the organization in any region where necessary.
Recall that the IDF previously eliminated a key figure in Islamic Jihad.
IDF fighters carried out a targeted attack, eliminating terrorist Muhammad Abu Sahil, associated with the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad (JI) in the Gaza Strip.
Abu Sahil was located in the command and control complex formerly used as the Fahed al-Tsabah school in the north of the enclave. He was a key figure in the ID structure, responsible for planning and executing terrorist attacks, analyzing the operational situation and coordinating actions with Hamas against Israeli citizens and the IDF in the Gaza Strip.
At the same time, the IDF continues active operations against Hezbollah leadership in Lebanon, targeting key members of the organization. IDF fighter jets carried out targeted strikes in the Al-Saltaniya area, during which the commander of the anti-tank unit of the elite Radwan unit, Riah Rachi Azavi, was eliminated.
