The event took place on Saturday, November 23 in the Mexican city of Xalapa, when guests celebrated a wedding at the local casino, Casino del Pueblo.
According to local media, a group of five armed men broke into the room where the celebration was taking place with the aim of kidnapping one of the guests, Vladimir Zúñiga Calzada.
Witnesses claim that Vladimir resisted, after which he was shot on the spot. Two other guests were wounded by gunshots during the attack. Video of the scene shows the bride standing on a chair with a bouquet, preparing to throw it, when an armed man enters the room and grabs one of the guests. The camera captures the chaos and panic as bystanders ask in confusion, “What happened?”
The mayor of Xalapa, José Manuel Hernández Pérez, confirmed that the attack was carried out by a group of heavily armed men. He said: “Three people were injured, one of whom died. The area is under surveillance and an investigation is underway.”

The deputy prosecutor of the Attorney General’s Office said that the murdered victim, Vladimir Zúñiga Calzad, could be linked to illicit activities, including human trafficking. However, the investigation is ongoing and additional details have not yet been revealed.
The mayor expressed his condolences to the victims and their families and added: “We hope that the peace that we all long for will soon come.”
