Death toll rises to four in Yakutia bus crash

Four people died and 30 passengers were injured in a bus accident on the Lena Highway in Yakutia, the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations announced this today, September 10.

“According to updated information, 34 people were injured, four of them dead. In total there were 35 people on the bus.” — the department said in a statement.

It was previously reported that 12 people were taken to hospital, four of them in serious condition.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sakha Republic, a passenger bus on its way to Aldan from Chulman Airport in the Neryungri district of Yakutia overturned on the Lena federal highway. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate, an investigative task force and rescuers from the Aldan search and rescue team of the Yakutia Rescue Service are working at the scene of the accident.
