Mandatory medical measures have been applied to the man who killed his wife and attempted suicide a year ago.
APA reports that Yalchin Mammadov was placed under compulsory treatment at the Republican Psychiatric Hospital under police supervision by decision of the Lankaran Serious Crimes Court.
Dissatisfied with the court’s decision, the victim’s legal heir filed an appeal.
The appeal will be heard at the Shirvan Court of Appeal.
It should be noted that the incident took place on July 30, 2023 in the village of Tekla of Masalli district. In 1979, the police received information about the murder of Ilkana Museyib gizi Mammadova with cut and puncture wounds. According to the investigations, well-founded suspicions were established that Yalchin Habil oglu Mammadov, born in 1976, killed his wife Ilkana Mammadova with a knife during an argument in the house located in the village of Tekla of the district.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated at the Masalli District Prosecutor’s Office under Article 120.1 (intentional homicide) of the Criminal Code.
