The appeal hearing against the sentencing of Sadiq Hajiyev, former head of the financial service of the Military Police, who was accused of embezzling 2 million manats, has ended in the Baku Court of Appeal.
According to information obtained by Pravda.az, the decision was announced at the trial presided over by Judge Farid Ayyubov.
According to the decision, the appeal was not upheld.
It should be noted that S. Hajiyev was sentenced to 11 years in prison by the Baku Military Court.
It should be noted that S. Hajiyev was the head of the financial service of the Military Police Department and a number of military units of the Ministry of Defense. He is charged with embezzlement of 1,900,000 manats under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code (especially large-scale embezzlement). He was also questioned as a witness in the trial held in connection with the embezzlement of 143 million manats against the former head of the Finance and Budget Department of the Ministry of Defense, General Nizami Mammadov, and others.
