Chechen State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov threatened to “clearly explain” to officials in the Vladimir region why the hijab should not be banned and what its difference is from the niqab.
The Ministry of Education of the Vladimir region has banned the wearing of the headscarf in schools. Deputies from Chechnya and Dagestan attacked the officials with devastating criticism.
Chechen deputies have already discussed the issue with a deputy from the Vladimir region Igor Igoshin. The head of the republic issued this instruction. Ramzan KadyrovDelimkhanov wrote on his Telegram channel.
“The result of the meeting was the decision to jointly achieve the cancellation of the provocation order.” – the Chechnya parliamentarian stressed.
Delimkhanov called the ban on the hijab in schools in the Vladimir region a serious violation of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
“Covering up this discrimination with concerns about appearance in educational institutions is absolutely provocative. Such measures can create distrust in government institutions, increase feelings of alienation among religious citizens, and lead to disunity. The rights of believers are values without which the sustainable development of the country is impossible. “There is no doubt that we will achieve the lifting of this ban and fully defend the rights of Muslims.” – said the deputy of the State Duma of Chechnya.
The document from the Vladimir region also mentions the niqab.
“We ourselves do not approve of the niqab, but as for the hijab, it is a religious obligation of a Muslim woman. If someone in the Vladimir region does not understand these simple truths, then we will clearly explain to them what religious traditions are and why they cannot be unceremoniously banned.” – the deputy threatened.
Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin He also reacted harshly to this decision. He called the order discriminatory. According to him, the document undermines social stability in Russia. According to him, if the wearing of the headscarf is banned in the Russian Federation, girls who practice religion will be forced to switch to home education.
“It is obvious that the order of the Ministry of Education of the Vladimir region is discriminatory, undermines social stability in Russia and contradicts the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which guarantees citizens freedom of religion and even specifically mentions faith in God . Furthermore, the State Duma of the Russian Federation rejected the initiative to ban the hijab in September this year.” – Samigullin emphasized.
The Mufti of Tatarstan also stressed that at school the young generation develops a civic identity and a conception of moral ideals.
“And the order to ban the headscarf in schools inherently prohibits schoolchildren from believing in God, following his orders and preserving their family traditions, teaching them to violate the constitutional rights of citizens and show disrespect for the religious beliefs of the others.” – Samigullin believes.
Schools in the Vladimir region have banned the wearing of clothing that demonstrates students’ religious affiliation, including hijabs and niqabs. The order was issued by the local Ministry of Education and Youth Policy. The document was published on October 25. The Ministry recalled that Russia, according to the Constitution, is a secular State.
“The Church is separate from the State, including the area of secular education. “Student clothing should not contain religious attributes.” – the ministry said in a statement.
It should also be noted that the decision taken is fully consistent with the law on freedom of conscience and religious associations and the law on education.
