“Issues related to climate change will be reflected in educational programs in Azerbaijan.”
According to the “Report”, this was stated by the Deputy Minister of Science and Education, Idris Isayev, at the conference on accelerating research and cooperation for climate action held within the framework of the Baku Climate Action Week.
According to him, all states, including Azerbaijan, should try to prevent the consequences of climate problems and make appropriate decisions in this direction: “The temperature increase should not exceed 1.5 percent until 2030.”
The vice minister said that education is a very important element to combat the consequences of climate change:
“Because the best method of educating people, especially young people and children, is education. Measures in this regard must be taken in secondary and higher education institutions. In the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of specialties in climate change and interest in has also increased. In this sense there will be changes in educational programs. It is necessary to define a strategy for teaching “green skills” to young people, as well as serious activity of educational and scientific institutions.
