At least 158 people have died in the devastating floods that have taken place in recent days in Spain, and which have particularly affected the Valencian Community. The storm left historic records of rainfall and the flooding left images of mud and sediment inundations across the entire Valencian coast.

Newly released satellite images, obtained using Copernicus-Sentinel 1, compare what the Valencian coast looked like from space on October 26 (before the floods) and October 31 (just after the floods). The photographs show the destruction caused by floods and the brown patches of mud and sediment in the Valencian Community and Castile-La Mancha: where before there was green, now there is only mud, there where before there was blue, now there is only brown.
