“The COP29 event organized by the Government of Azerbaijan is a great success and will remain so until the end. The organization and management are incredible. I can say that this is the best COP I have participated in.”
This Oku.AzDirector General of the World Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) who participated in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku Salim bin Muhammad Al-Malik saying.
He added that events from various countries, organizational initiatives and plenary meetings are organized, which strengthens the belief that COP29 will achieve significant results:
“The results obtained at COP29 will serve to protect the environment and our planet and identify all the necessary tools for this. In addition, friendship between countries, the management of water resources, the protection of biodiversity and, most importantly, peace will play an important role in this process.”
Regarding the prospect of ICESCO cooperation with Azerbaijan, Salim bin Muhammad Al-Malik noted that our country strongly supports many initiatives of the institution of which it is a member:
“During the years 2023-24, we carried out many successful joint activities with Azerbaijan. In addition, Shusha was elected cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2024.
