Director Ursulyak received an award at the Moscow Jewish Film Festival

The honorary award of the Moscow Jewish Film Festival, which opened on Sunday, November 24 at the Oktyabr cinema, was received by director Sergei Ursulyak.

Ursulyak received the award “for his outstanding contribution to the development of Jewish cinema in Russia.” His film “Justeous” became the most successful drama at the box office dedicated to the tragedy of the Holocaust.

In addition, within the framework of the opening of the festival, another special award was presented, given by members of the family of producer Yakov Kaller (1946-2017) for the best Russian film on Jewish themes. The film received the award. Igor Sadreev “Find a Jew.”

The festival opened with a film by a British director Jonathan Glazer “Zone of interest”, which won two Oscars in 2024.

The Moscow Jewish Film Festival will be held from November 24 to December 1. Films from 11 countries participate in the forum. Spectators will be able to see artistic, documentary and experimental projects during almost 50 film screenings in theaters across the city.
