Disgrace in the village: a den of immorality was discovered in the café

Ahmed (name withheld – ed.), born in 1965 in the Beylagan district, was accused of organizing a den of immorality.

According to information obtained by Demokrat.az, Ahmed arranged his unique private residence, which he used as a canteen located in the settlement of Beylagan district, as a den of immorality to engage in prostitution for the purpose of greed. On January 30, 2023, at around 13:00, he paid 10 manats for Sahila to prostitute herself to Musa in exchange for 20 manats.

Ahmed gave the room in his private house, i.e. the apartment, to Sahila for prostitution. As a result of operational measures carried out by officers of the Beylagan District Police Department, Sahila and Musa were arrested while having sex in the room reserved for them.

The perpetrator of the incident, Ahmed, was charged under Article 244.1 of the Criminal Code (organizing, maintaining or providing accommodation for prostitution for immoral purposes).

Ahmad, who testified as a defendant in the criminal case, pleaded guilty to the charges announced against him. He said that his passport is registered in the settlement in the Beylagan district and that he lives permanently in that settlement with his relatives: “I do not officially work anywhere, but to support my family I use the rooms of a private house located in the settlement in the Beylagan district as a restaurant.

The defendant stated that on January 30, 2023, at around 1:00 p.m., when he was at the café, a man and a woman he did not know arrived at the café: “I approached those people and they told me they wanted to eat.

I cooked fish and gave it to those people. After they finished eating, the man, whose name I later learned was Musa, came to me and told me that he had agreed to have sex with the woman he was with, Sahilah, in exchange for money, and asked me to arrange a room for them to have sex for money. Since I needed money, I decided to arrange for Musa to have sex in one of the rooms. Taking Musa to one of the rooms inside the cafe, I told him that he would receive 10 manats for 1 hour. Musa agreed with me and gave me two 5 manat bills. Musa then returned to the room where they were eating and together with Sahila they went to the room I showed them. About 10 minutes after Musa and Sahila entered the room, police officers entered the dining room and found them having sex in the room. The police officers then asked them for ID and asked me why I had a den of immorality in the cafe. I could not say anything to the police because I regretted my act, and since I needed money, I told Musa and Sahil that I gave them a room in exchange for 10 manats so they could have sex in the cafe. Later, the police searched the house and found a single-barreled shotgun and 2 shotguns in the other bedroom of the house.

Ahmed said police officers later took them to the Beylagan district police department to ask for an explanation: “I did not organize immoral nests for prostitution before and I did not give rooms to citizens for money to have sex. Musa claimed that he agreed to have sex with Sahila for money, I decided to give them a room. That is why no one knew that he was organizing prostitution in the cafe.”

According to Musa, who testified as a witness in the case, he did not know Ahmad, a resident of Beylagan district, and had no enmity or feud with him: “On January 30, I had to go to one of the military units located in the settlement of Beylagan district to meet with the soldier. In order not to go alone, I called Sahila, a resident of Tartar district, whom I had met several times for money, so that, if possible, she would go with me to Beylagan district. I wanted to have sex again in exchange for money. Sahila agreed with me and we came together to Beylagan district. I said that I wanted to meet the soldier, but it was not possible to meet him at that time. I asked the residents of the village to have lunch. , which was located near the military unit, they showed the cafe. I went to that cafe with Sahilah. When we entered the dining room, we saw a man there. That man came to us and sat us down. We ordered the food. After eating, I offered him Sahila to have sex with me for 20 manats. Sahilah agreed with me.”

Musa noted that he then went to Ahmed and told him that he agreed to have sex with the woman he was sitting with in the cafe in exchange for money, and asked him to arrange a room for him in exchange for money to have sex with that woman: “Ahmed took me to the other room in the restaurant, showed me the room and charged me 10 manats for 1 hour. In exchange for money, I agreed with Ahmed and gave him 5 manat bills. After that, I gave him 20 manats and we lay down on the bed, the policemen entered the room. They asked us for our IDs and told us why we were having sex in the cafe. I also found out that the policemen had already seen me having sex with Sahila, that’s why I couldn’t say anything.”

Musa said that police officers later took them to the Beylagan district police department for explanations: “I told Ahmed that I agreed to have sex with the woman I was sitting with in the cafe in exchange for money and told him to arrange a room for me to have sex with that woman in exchange for money. Ahmed 10 manats, he gave me that room in exchange. I have never had sex with anyone there before. He does not know if he gave someone else a room to have sex. money. When I went to the cafe with Sahila, there was no one there. Ahmed spread the mattress, pillow and blanket on the floor in the room where we had sex. When I asked him for a room to have sex with Sahila, he took us to the room where we had sex, saying that everything was ready, the pillow and blanket were spread on the floor and ready.”

The case was heard in the Beylagan District Court. According to the court’s verdict, Ahmed was sentenced to two years of correctional labour and the state confiscated 15 percent of his monthly income.

A criminal case was initiated against him under Article 228 (illegal possession of weapons) of the Criminal Code. In that case, he was involved in a separate criminal proceeding as a defendant.
