The Russian Embassy in the Central African Republic denied data on the recruitment of citizens of the country to participate on Russia’s side in a special military operation in Ukraine, which previously appeared in the French media.
“We believe that the purpose of such an act of disinformation is to cast a shadow over our country and call into question once again its decisive role in restoring peace in the Central African Republic. “The West is once again demonstrating its desire to drive a wedge between Russia and the friendly people of the Central African Republic.” – says a message on the Telegram channel of the Russian Embassy in Bangui in response to the request of a Central African journalist to comment on data on the “recruitment” of citizens of the Central African Republic to participate in hostilities in Ukraine.
The embassy recalled that “today in Russia there is an unprecedented level of population cohesion in the face of a common threat from the West.”
“Since the Great Patriotic War, the level of patriotism of Russians has never been higher. Russia does not need to attract, much less by force, citizens of other states to protect its sovereign rights. “The Russians can take care of themselves.” – assured the embassy.
The Russian diplomatic mission in Bangui highlighted that Russia, unlike France or Great Britain, has never in its history attracted the people of Asia and Africa to the defense of its territory.
“In 1940, Paris mobilized some 500,000 Africans, representing a tenth of the French army. These Africans shed their blood for their stepmother France. However, in 1944, under pressure from Washington, they were not allowed to participate in the parade commemorating the liberation of Paris. “We would recommend that French journalists better study the dark pages of their country’s history.” – indicated in the diplomatic mission.
