Disinformation threatens journalism and democracy

For a long time, for journalists, facts were sacred and opinions were free. For several years, opinions have remained free, fortunately; But some decided that they could also make the facts free, remake them, seek alternative truths, misinform, lie. Nothing threatens journalism and, therefore, society as a whole, public debate, elections and the health of democracy as much as this phenomenon of disinformation.

The vast majority of press editors are extremely concerned about the recent phenomenon of disinformation. We live on the credit, trust and credibility we have with our readers, our advertisers and our suppliers. Our business is based on the reputation that we generate in the environment to which our publications are aimed. If the phenomenon of disinformation continues to spread as it has in recent years, its waste will eventually impact the entire sector. A lot of the public will think we’re all the same.
