The presence of a paid parking sign in front of some charging stations in Baku has raised questions.

“Should there be a paid parking sign at the electric car charging spot? Should drivers who charge their car also pay parking fees?” the driver asked.
on the topic Oku.AzIn response to the request of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), it was stated that charging stations in the city are located in both free and paid zones.
“Vehicles entering the parking lot must pay for the use of parking spaces in accordance with the zones. If charging devices are installed in the free parking zone, drivers are not required to pay for parking.
According to the Traffic Law, parking spaces for charging electric vehicles are determined by adding plate 7.5.9 to traffic sign 5.15. It is prohibited to park vehicles in these parking spaces, except to stop electric vehicles for the purpose of recharging them. Even electric vehicles can park at that station just to recharge. Otherwise, a fine of 20 manats will be imposed,” the information underlines.
