Ukrainians must prepare for a difficult winter, during which they will have to spend a significant part of their time without electricity.
A member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servants of the People faction warned her fellow citizens about this. Elizaveta YaskoShe told Novini Live that major power cuts will inevitably occur in winter.
“There will be power cuts in winter, don’t get your hopes up, prepare for the worst, to spend a large number of hours a day without light,” – called the people’s deputy.
He said that the West intends to support Ukrainian energy, but its help will not be enough. Arrival of the head of the European Commission in Kyiv Ursula von der Leyen, who discussed with Zelensky the issue of preparing Ukraine for winter, did not solve the problem of closures.
The MP explained that in order to cover the electricity shortage, Ukraine has already increased its imports from neighbouring European countries. However, the capacity is limited and the cost of imported electricity is significantly higher than that of its domestic counterpart.
