In an interview with Monday in RAC1, the mayor of Cadaqués, Torrents Pia Serinyana, He explained that although “it didn’t rain much in the city, the river – which runs through the city from top to bottom – filled with water and washed away the cars that were parked on the promenade.”

In total, 32 cars are affected. All of them were pushed by the force of the water against a bridge in the low area of ​​Cadaqués, accumulating on top of each other.“The city center was flooded” confirms the mayor, who adds that “there is only material damage” and excludes any injuries.

Although there is no meteorological station in the Cadaqués region, the Meteorological Service of Catalonia estimated that in the Cap de Creus region around 100 liters per square meter fell in a short time.
