Several regions in Portugal have been engulfed in fires for over a week.
Oku.Az “Svejesti” reports, citing the “Telegram” channel, that one of these fires, a large forest fire that started in the municipality of Sever-du-Vuga, spread to the Aveiro region, south of Porto.
The fire seriously affected the town of Albergaria-a-Velya, where dozens of houses were engulfed in flames.
Authorities have declared a state of emergency and asked the European Union for help in combating the numerous fires raging in the central and northern regions of the country.
It should be noted that 7 people died and 40 others were injured while trying to put out the fires.
