In the town of Snezhnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, law enforcement officers detained a local resident who was committing arson on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.
According to the press service of the Ministry of the Interior of the DPR, the detainee was carrying out orders to set fire to and record video communication facilities in order to destabilize the social situation.
Investigators are also verifying information about the attacker’s involvement in the fire of a relay cabinet on a railway in the Moscow region in July 2024.
The investigation has at its disposal a video recording of the criminal actions carried out by the accused himself. The images show how the criminal doused the closet with flammable liquid and set it on fire.
During post-arrest interrogation, the man said he was in Moscow in July. The Ukrainian intelligence services contacted him via the Telegram messenger and sent him the coordinates of the replacement cabinet.
Later, already in Snezhnoye, the man committed three more arson attacks, including against mobile phone towers. The coordinates of the objects were also sent to him in a popular messenger.
Previously EADaily reported that a 48-year-old Russian citizen was detained in the Kaluga region, collecting explosive devices on instructions from the Ukrainian special services. They were planned to be used in terrorist attacks in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Tula regions.
