Earlier, the Alliance of the Indonesian community of the community (AMTI), together with representatives of small merchants, transferred his aspirations to the chairman of the Special Committee on Regional Regulation of Jakarta CTR so that regional regulation would not burden small merchants.
The chairman of Amti I Ketut Budhyman said that his party agreed with the rules related to smoking, but not a complete ban on the tobacco ecosystem.
“If this ban remains a proposal for the Government of the Province of DKI JAKarta, we can convey today that we do not agree with the regional regulation of the proposal of the government of the province of DKI Dzhakarta,” he said in Jakarta, on Wednesday (5/5/2025).
Budhiman explained that in the regional regulation of KTR there were several articles that potentially can have social and economic consequences, especially at the level of traditional merchants, grocery kiosks, modern retailers, cafes, and restaurants for creative industries.
This, according to him, led to a decrease in labor absorption and an increase in the threat of illegal cigarettes.
